Prendergast to keynote luncheon

MTA’s Thomas PrendergastThe ACEC New York statewide annual meeting will be held at NYC’s Union League Club on Wednesday, June 12.  It will begin with a panel discussion on Superstorm Sandy followed by a luncheon with keynote speaker Thomas Prendergast, MTA Interim Executive Director. The Council will also be presenting the 2013 Chairman’s Award to Robert LiMandri, Commissioner, NYC Department of Buildings; the New Principal of the Year Award to Erich Arcement, Sam Schwartz Engineering and the Engineer of the Year Award to Augustine A. DiGiacomo, Jaros, Baum & Bolles. The luncheon will also feature the formal induction of the ACEC New York Board of Directors and the graduation of the 2013 Leadership Program.  To register click here

Meeting with Congressman Tim Bishop

Tom McLaughlin, HDR; Congressman Bishop, Laura Gallo, STV; Neil Lucey, PBMembers and staff of ACEC New York met with Congressman Tim Bishop in our New York City office on Monday, May 13.  The Congressman spent an hour discussing his work in Washington, DC including his efforts to pass a Water Resources Development Act and his thoughts on moving forward on a long-term transportation bill.  Meeting with Members of Congress is a good way to let them know what issues are important to the design professional community. ACEC New York thanks Congressman Bishop for his continued support of our organization and we look forward to working with him in the future.
