| ACEC New York is governed
by a State Board of Directors comprising representatives
from each of the organization’s eight regions.
The number of representatives from each region is
based on an index number formula -- the larger the region,
the more seats--and is determined on January 1 of
each year. Presently, 26 members sit on the board,
although the size can change year to year. On an annual
basis, each region also elects members to a local
board.
A Nominating Committee prepares a slate,
for the Board’s approval, of the eight-member
Executive Committee (EXCOM), which addresses immediate,
day-to-day issues of the organization and is authorized
to act for the entire Board. EXCOM comprises the following
ACEC New York officers: Chairman, Chairman-Elect,
National Director, Secretary, Treasurer, three Vice
Chairmen and President.
At least 75 percent of ACEC New
York’s Board members, as well as the chairman
and national director, must be licensed engineers.
Board members serve a maximum of four years (two 2-year
terms).
