Metropolitan Region: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx and Westchester Counties

The largest ACEC New York region works hard to promote the interests of local consulting engineers. The region has a dedicated municipal affairs counsel; assisted (with over 50 members) in rewriting New York City's Building Code; promotes Qualifications Based Selection through changes in the city's administrative code; and in March 2005, established a new political action committee enabling the region to collect and make contributions to candidates. Through a special project, the region became a partner with the new Urban Assembly School for Design and Construction, the first high school in New York City dedicated to providing a college preparatory education to students interested in engineering, architecture and construction.
  The Metropolitan Region has four membership meetings a year, in October, December, March and May. The specific dates are set by June of each year. Following is the most up-to-date meeting schedule:
