February 19-25, 2017
National Engineers Week takes place in February each year. This program is promoted by DiscoverE (formerly the National Engineers Week Foundation) to promote awareness of the engineering profession and engender interest in engineering among young people.
Each year, many of our members participate in programs and celebrations across the nation during this week-long celebration. ACEC New York firmly believes that encouraging the next generation of engineers is essential to the wellbeing of the profession and the future of New York.
New for 2017: Dream Big: Engineering our World. Dream Big is an IMAX film featuring engineering marvels, which has been produced in partnership with American Society of Civil Engineers. ACEC New York is working with members to encourage showings in New York State - a possible showing in Schenectady is currently in the planning phase. The film will be showing at the Liberty Science Center starting on February 17. In recognition of National Engineer's Week (February 19-25), ASCE Metropolitan Section will hold a special Kid's Day at the New York Hall of Science, which will feature a special screening of the film.
