Congratulations to all National ACEC Engineering Excellence Award Winners. Each year, many winners of ACEC New York Engineering Excellence Awards go on to compete and win Engineering Excellence awards at the national level. Congratulations to all the ACEC New York firms who won ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards. A special congratulations to Weidlinger Associates (Thornton Tomasetti); WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff; McFarland-Johnson; Gannett Fleming/Hazen and Sawyer (Joint Venture); and The STV Group on earning Grand Awards.

Updates to Membership Listing Due May 27. As we prepare for our 2016-2017 fiscal year, we want to verify that your firm's information in our records is correct. NEW THIS YEAR: we have updated our membership renewal process to accommodate changes in both our print and electronic directories through our newly designed website. The main contact for each firm should review their firm’s listing in our online directory, and any changes should be submitted via each firm's online directory login by May 27. An email with detailed instructions will be sent to all main contacts. If our office does not receive a submission from your firm’s main contact by May 27, your listing will be considered current.

Register for Access to Website Members Only. Registration is now available to access the Members Only section of the website. All employees of member firms are eligible to access these pages, which include presentations from ACEC New York and related events, governance documents, and minutes from board and committee meetings. To register for access, complete the online form. Approval will be granted by staff once membership is verified.

Advertising in the 2016-17 ACEC New York Printed Directory Now Available. Ad space is now available for reservation in the 2016-17 ACEC New York printed directory, which will be produced and released in the summer of 2016. This directory is distributed not only to members but also to state, city and local government leaders. There are several advertising opportunities available, including purchasing advertising space on the directory covers, tabbed pages, and an "enhanced" directory listing. Advertising space is first come, first serve. To reserve your space today, complete the sponsorship form and return to Gina Potfora at gina@acecny.org. Deadline for reserving space and submitting art is June 17, 2016.

Host Second Leadership Institute 2016-17 Class at your Office in New York City. ACEC New York is looking for a member office to host a second 2016-17 New York City Leadership Institute program. The host office must have a conference room with at least a 24-person capacity with A/V capabilities. This space is needed on the following dates: 2016: September 27, October 18, December 20; 2017: January 10, February 14, March 14, April 18, and May 9. Host venue sponsor will receive the following benefits: firm logo will on all promotional material relating to the program; one (1) free tuition in the program ($4200 value); and two (2) free tickets to the Leadership graduation luncheon ceremony (during the Annual Meeting) in June 2017. Committee Participation Form Released This Week; Responses Due by May 27. The electronic Committee Participation Form will be issued to the ACEC New York main contact for each firm this week. Each firm should submit only one form for committee nominations. Assignments are made by the Chair-elect and are announced in early July (term is August 1-July 30). Should anyone leave his/her firm, the committee spot reverts back to the member firm, and they can designate another individual to take on this role. To view the current 2015-16 Committees, visit our website. All requests must be received no later than May 27, 2016. Requests received after this date may not be accommodated for the 2016-2017 operating year.

Technical Presentations Needed for Tri-State Conference September 18-20. The upcoming ACEC Tri-State Conference (in collaboration with ACEC NJ and ACEC/PA, will take place this fall (Sept. 18-20) at the Thayer Hotel in West Point, NY. ACEC New York is looking for two PDH technical presentations, currently scheduled as concurrent sessions on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 8:00 - 9:00 AM. If your company/firm has a qualified course they would like to present at the Fall Conference, please contact Gina Potfora at gina@acecny.org or call (518) 452-8611.

Business Affiliate Survey: Response Needed from Member Firms. In order to coordinate our services and provide greater benefits to our members, ACEC New York is asking all member firms to help us identify firms and companies with which they do business. Please complete this brief survey with the requested information. Your help is greatly appreciated.


Continuing Education

ACEC New York PDH Webinars

Call for Submissions! ACEC New York is looking for both technical and business programs to present as webinars. PDH webinars should be about one hour and should be technical in nature. Presenters earn 3 PDHs per 1-hour class the first time they present. Business webinars should also be about 1 hour and should provide information relevant to our membership.
